Life Saving Society Malaysia (LSSM) runs courses for adults and children. Kids below 16 can sign up for the Aquanaut programme, where they learn about water safety, saving themselves and looking out for danger.

Anyone aged 16 and above can sign up for a Bronze Medallion certificate, a basic lifesaving qualification.

You can train to be a professional lifeguard through the life saving training course, which is recognised by the international life saving federation. A five-day course costs about RM350.

A global organisation, the ILSF works to prevent drowning, improve water safety, water rescue, lifesaving and lifeguarding.
